An established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Transportation Engineer to support its growing transportation infrastructure team in Chicago.
The company works on a wide range of roadway and public infrastructure projects and has built long standing relationships across DOT and municipal markets. Engineers here are encouraged to continue developing their technical skills while gaining more visibility across projects and working closely with experienced transportation professionals.
What you'll be doing:
Preparing roadway and transportation engineering designs for public infrastructure projects
Supporting pavement rehabilitation, drainage, ADA, and utility coordination projects
Developing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and public agencies
Assisting with DOT and municipal transportation project delivery
Participating in client meetings and technical discussions
Supporting project scheduling, documentation, and overall coordination
Mentoring junior staff and contributing to project execution
What we're looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
PE license required
Experience working on transportation engineering and roadway design projects
Familiarity with DOT standards and transportation design practices
Experience with pavement, ADA, utility coordination, or roadway rehabilitation projects preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Interest in progressing into a Project Management role
