What you'll be doing:


  • Conduct field assessments to document structural conditions and damage from natural (wind, water, fire, seismic activity, etc.) and human-induced factors

  • Analyze structural failures, identify causes, and recommend repair solutions

  • Review design drawings and project documentation for forensic investigations

  • Prepare detailed technical reports and liaise with clients, contractors, and code officials

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution

  • Travel occasionally on short notice to support investigations


What we're looking for:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in MD, DC, VA, WV, and PA (or ability to obtain additional state licensure)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering with a strong understanding of structural behavior

  • Proficiency in national building and construction codes (ICC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS)

  • Field experience in assessing structural damage and failures

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience providing litigation support, including expert testimony, is a plus
