Structural Engineer (Forensics)
About the company:
We’re looking for a Structural Engineer (Forensics) in Seattle to investigate structural failures and support construction litigation. The firm specializes in forensic engineering across multiple sectors, offering a collaborative and expert-driven work environment.
What you'll be doing:
Conduct field assessments to document conditions and damage to structural systems caused by natural or human-related events
Investigate structural failures, including design flaws, construction defects, and improper material use
Apply building codes and structural engineering principles to determine repair scope and cause-of-failure analyses
Review design drawings and assess compliance with codes and standards
Prepare detailed technical reports and communicate findings to clients
What we're looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California (multi-state licenses or ability to obtain is a plus)
10+ years of structural engineering experience in design or other areas that contribute to a strong understanding of structural behavior
Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, wood, roofing, and building envelopes
Strong knowledge of national building and construction codes (ICC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS, etc.)
