Site Civil Director
About the company:
We're working with an employee-owned civil engineering consultancy that's continuing to invest in its Charlotte office. The foundations are already in place, including a strong client base, experienced technical teams, and a respected reputation across the Southeast. Now they're looking for the right person to help grow the local Site Civil practice.
If you've built strong relationships in the Charlotte market and are looking for a role where you can genuinely influence the direction of a business, this is an opportunity to make your mark without starting from scratch.
What you'll be doing:
Lead the growth of the Charlotte Site Civil practice
Build and strengthen relationships with developers, municipalities, and industry partners
Win new work while growing existing client accounts
Oversee the successful delivery of land development projects across a range of sectors
Mentor engineers and project managers, helping develop the team as it grows
Work alongside senior leadership on business strategy and future expansion
Support projects across mixed use, industrial, multifamily, commercial, education, healthcare, and parks and recreation developments
What we're looking for:
15+ years of civil engineering experience with a strong background in land development
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
PE license in North Carolina, or the ability to obtain reciprocity
Established relationships within the Charlotte development market
Experience delivering mixed use, industrial, multifamily, and commercial projects
Proven success in business development and client management
Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing people and growing teams
More reasons to apply:
Opportunity to build and grow an established Charlotte practice rather than starting from the ground up
Employee ownership through a long-standing ESOP
Strong pipeline of work and an established client base
Backing from experienced technical teams and executive leadership
Autonomy to influence the direction of the office and the wider business
Hybrid working and long-term career progression within a growing organization
