Senior Forensic Engineer or Architect – Practice Builder
About the company:
This is a respected forensic engineering and building science consultancy that is deliberately building a small, high quality local practice. The firm has an established reputation in other markets and is bringing that experience to Jacksonville with a focus on practical engineering judgment, long-term client relationships, and giving senior professionals real ownership in how the practice develops. You get the stability and resources of a larger organization, with direct access to leadership and the ability to make decisions locally.
What you'll be doing:
• Leading forensic investigations across building envelope and related disciplines
• Managing and growing relationships with insurance, legal, and owner side clients
• Bringing in and developing new work aligned with forensic services
• Mentoring and developing junior engineers and architects
• Playing an active role in shaping hiring plans, culture, and technical standards
• Balancing hands-on technical work with business development and client strategy
What we're looking for:
• Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect
• Meaningful experience in forensic engineering, building science, or related consulting
• An established client base across insurance, legal, or owner side forensic work
• Comfortable leading forensic projects and acting as the primary technical contact for clients
• Experience guiding early career engineers or architects
• Interest in helping grow a local practice rather than stepping into something fully built
More reasons to apply:
• A rare opportunity to help build and shape a forensic practice from its early stages
• Meaningful autonomy in how you manage your work, clients, and technical approach
• Direct access to firm leadership and a clear voice in decision making
• Long-term opportunity to grow in responsibility as the local practice expands
• An environment where experienced professionals are trusted to lead and mentor others
