Senior Forensic Construction Consultant - Expert Witness
About the company:
This is a remote role with a boutique forensic engineering firm that provides advanced construction defect analysis and litigation support across the Southeast. The firm frequently works on large, technically complex projects, conducting thorough failure investigations, estimating repair costs, and delivering expert opinions that stand up under scrutiny.
With deep construction expertise and a methodical approach, the team is a trusted partner for developers, insurance carriers, and litigation counsel who need clear, credible, and well-supported conclusions.
What you'll be doing:
Lead forensic investigations involving construction defects, failures, and performance issues
Review construction documents, contracts, and site conditions to evaluate claims
Conduct site inspections and document findings clearly and methodically
Determine root causes and develop well-supported technical opinions
Prepare expert reports, exhibits, and written analyses
Support attorneys through discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial
Communicate complex technical findings clearly to legal teams and clients
What we're looking for:
8+ years of experience in forensic construction, defect analysis, or related consulting
Strong construction industry background (contractor, engineering, architecture, or owner side)
Experience supporting defect or failure-related claims involving attorneys, insurers, developers, or owners
Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field preferred
Professional licensure (PE, GC, AIA, or similar) strongly preferred
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with sound technical judgment
More reasons to apply:
Direct access to clients and senior level autonomy in your work
Involvement in large, high visibility projects without the layers of a national firm
A strong base of repeat clients and respected law firms across the Southeast
Flexible structure with strong work-life balance
The opportunity to build your reputation as a trusted technical authority in construction defect litigation
