Senior Engineer
About the company:
This boutique building enclosure and diagnostics firm has built a strong industry reputation through consistent technical work and long term client relationships. Led by two nationally recognized principals with backgrounds at a global forensic engineering firm, the team has completed hundreds of projects across Texas and the Mountain West, spanning commercial, institutional, residential, and historic buildings. With a growing project pipeline and a new office opening, the firm is making a selective senior hire to support continued expansion and strengthen day to day project leadership.
What you'll be doing:
Lead building enclosure diagnostics, forensic investigations, and on site assessments
Manage projects from start to finish with minimal oversight
Develop scopes, testing plans, technical reports, and repair recommendations
Serve as a primary technical contact for clients and build long term relationships
Coordinate with owners, architects, contractors, and internal team members
Conduct site visits, field testing, documentation, and detailed condition analysis
Maintain the firm’s high quality standards across all deliverables
Support and mentor junior staff as the team continues to grow
What we're looking for:
8-15+ years of experience in building enclosure consulting, forensic engineering, or building science
Strong background in field investigations, envelope assessments, and failure analysis
P.E. or Architect license preferred, or the ability to obtain licensure
Proven experience writing clear, well structured technical reports
Comfortable working on site, solving problems in real time, and explaining findings to non technical audiences
Ability to manage multiple projects with varying levels of complexity
A leadership mindset with confidence running work independently while supporting others
Someone who values quality, ownership, and clear communication over volume
More reasons to apply:
A rare senior role at a firm that hires thoughtfully
Direct mentorship from two respected, hands on technical leaders
A small team where your work is visible and meaningful
Diverse projects across multiple states and building types
A new Austin office built for collaboration and flexibility
A referral driven practice with a strong, trust based client base
The chance to shape processes, quality standards, and future growth
