Senior Electrical Engineer

What you'll be doing:
Lead electrical design efforts on projects ranging from small renovations to large, complex builds
Support and partner closely with Lead Engineers and Project Managers
Perform detailed electrical calculations including voltage drop, short circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies
Design power distribution systems including emergency, standby, and EPSS systems in line with NEC Articles 700, 701, and 702
Design and size power distribution systems, including feeders, breakers, and electrical equipment, to ensure safety, reliability, and code compliance
Lead the selection and specification of key electrical equipment, including switchboards, panels, transformers, UPS systems, generators, and transfer switches
Develop electrical room layouts and coordinate with other disciplines
Use energy compliance tools such as EnergyPro and COMCheck for lighting and power systems
Review shop drawings, product submittals, and RFIs
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project coordination
Take ownership of quality control within the electrical discipline
Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers
Support project planning including scope, budget, schedules, and change management
Conduct site observations and contribute to feasibility studies, sustainability analysis, and basis of design reports
Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams
What we're looking for:
8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering design for buildings
Strong knowledge of NEC, California, and local building and energy codes
Experience across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, life sciences, data centers, or similar
Comfort working independently while also collaborating closely with a project team
Experience with emergency power systems and limited exposure to medium voltage design
Proficiency with Revit, BIM 360, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and electrical analysis tools such as SKM or similar
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineer license preferred
Familiarity with LEED, energy codes, and sustainable design practices
Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
