Senior Electrical Engineer (Mission Critical)

A new office brings the opportunity to have an impact from the very beginning. This fast-growing MEP consultancy has established a strong position in the mission critical and hyperscale data center market and is now bringing that expertise to Raleigh.


You'll join with the backing of an established business and a strong pipeline of complex projects. As one of the senior engineers in the new team, you'll have the opportunity to influence technical delivery, mentor engineers and play an important part in how the Raleigh office develops.

What you'll be doing:


  • Lead electrical design across mission critical and data center projects

  • Design medium and low voltage power distribution systems

  • Oversee generators, UPS and emergency power systems

  • Complete and review electrical calculations and equipment sizing

  • Review fault current, selective coordination and arc flash studies

  • Support voltage drop and Neher-McGrath analysis

  • Ensure designs meet NEC, NFPA, IBC and local requirements

  • Coordinate electrical systems with other engineering disciplines

  • Review RFIs, submittals and construction documents

  • Provide technical leadership and QA/QC oversight

  • Mentor engineers as the Raleigh team continues to grow



What we're looking for:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • 8+ years of electrical engineering design experience preferred

  • Strong power distribution and emergency power experience

  • Background designing medium and low voltage systems

  • Mission critical or data center experience is highly desirable

  • Industrial or complex commercial experience will also be considered

  • Advanced Revit skills

  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and system studies

  • PE certification preferred

  • EIT certification strongly preferred

  • Comfortable providing technical leadership and mentoring others
