What you’ll be doing:
Lead the electrical engineering group in the San Jose office, managing a team of 15 engineers and designers
Act as Lead Electrical Engineer or Project Manager on a variety of building projects
Mentor, train, and develop staff, including performance reviews and career progression
Assign workloads, balance resources, and support the team in meeting project deadlines
Partner with senior leadership to maintain engineering standards and quality assurance practices
Support recruiting efforts, interviews, and long-term staff retention
Develop fee proposals, scopes of work, and project schedules
Oversee project financials and coordinate with internal accounting
Review and negotiate contracts and terms with support from corporate leadership
Run weekly team meetings, track action items, and manage staffing plans
Oversee design production, quality reviews, and plan check approvals
Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, and internal MEP teams
Review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and perform construction observations
Communicate directly with clients through meetings, presentations, and proposal development
Prepare calculations, specifications, and technical documentation including due diligence and feasibility reports
Stay current with electrical codes, tools, and industry best practices
What we’re looking for:
12+ years of experience with a consulting or design build electrical engineering firm
Strong experience designing power, lighting, and low voltage systems
Demonstrated project management and people leadership experience
Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and construction processes
Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships
Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and electrical analysis software
Professional Engineer license preferred
LEED accreditation is a plus
