Plumbing Engineer (Mission Critical)
About the company:
This is an opportunity to join a new Raleigh office while having the backing of an established and rapidly growing MEP consultancy. The firm has built a strong presence in the mission critical and hyperscale data center market and is continuing to expand into new regions.
You'll join the Raleigh team at an early stage with a strong pipeline of complex projects already behind the business. It's an opportunity to develop specialist data center experience while taking on more responsibility as the local operation grows.
What you'll be doing:
Design plumbing systems for mission critical and data center facilities
Develop domestic water, sanitary and storm systems
Design vent and specialty piping systems
Complete plumbing calculations and equipment sizing
Carry out system analysis throughout the design process
Prepare construction documents and technical specifications
Ensure designs meet relevant plumbing codes and project requirements
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical and architectural teams
Review RFIs, submittals and construction documentation
Support projects from design through construction and closeout
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
3+ years of plumbing engineering or design experience
Strong understanding of plumbing systems and relevant codes
Proficiency with Revit
Commercial or industrial project experience
Mission critical or data center experience would be a strong advantage
EIT certification preferred
PE or CPD certification would be a plus
Strong technical and problem-solving skills
Comfortable coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams
