Landscape Architecture Principal
About the company:
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to do more than lead projects. You’ll have the scope to help shape and grow an entire Landscape Architecture practice, with a real say in where it goes next.
You’ll be joining an established multidisciplinary consultancy with expertise across planning, engineering and design. The foundations are already there, but you’ll have the autonomy to build the Charlotte team, grow client relationships and pursue the markets and opportunities you see the most potential in.
What you'll be doing:
Lead the growth and direction of the Charlotte landscape architecture practice
Build client relationships, identify opportunities and lead new business pursuits
Develop and mentor the landscape architecture team as the practice grows
Oversee key projects while maintaining a high standard of design and delivery
Collaborate with planning, engineering and design teams across multidisciplinary projects
Manage the commercial performance of the practice including staffing, revenue and profitability
Help define the long-term strategy for the Charlotte market
What we're looking for:
Experienced Landscape Architect with an RLA license
Proven experience leading and developing teams
Strong track record of building client relationships and winning new work
Experience across land development, mixed-use, residential, commercial or public realm projects
Good understanding of the financial and operational side of running a practice
Strong network in Charlotte or the wider North Carolina market would be particularly valuable
Confident design leader who can balance business development with project involvement
