What you'll be doing:
Design fire protection systems for mission critical and data center facilities
Develop sprinkler, detection and suppression systems
Support fire alarm and wider life-safety design
Complete hydraulic calculations and hazard assessments
Support equipment sizing and system analysis
Ensure designs meet NFPA, IBC, IFC and local requirements
Prepare construction documents and technical specifications
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical and plumbing teams
Review RFIs, submittals and construction documentation
Support projects from design through construction and closeout
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
3+ years of fire protection engineering or design experience
Strong understanding of NFPA standards and life-safety systems
Experience with hydraulic calculation and fire protection design software
Proficiency with Revit
Commercial or industrial project experience
Mission critical or data center experience would be a strong advantage
EIT certification preferred
PE license or progress toward licensure is a plus
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
More reasons to apply:
Join a brand new Raleigh office at the beginning of its growth
Build specialist experience within the hyperscale data center market
Work on technically complex fire protection and life-safety systems
Take on meaningful responsibility as the local team develops
Collaborate with experienced engineers across multiple MEP disciplines
Strong pipeline of mission critical projects
Competitive compensation for experienced engineers
Clear opportunity to progress as the Raleigh operation expands
