Director of Building Forensics

We're partnering with a multidisciplinary consulting firm that has spent more than 30 years helping owners, developers, lenders, insurers, and facility stakeholders solve complex property and building challenges. As demand for forensic investigations and building science expertise continues to grow, the firm is investing heavily in expanding its Building Forensics practice.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role where you'll have the autonomy to shape a service line, build a team, and grow a practice with the support of an established client base and multidisciplinary technical resources.
What you'll be doing:
Lead the growth and development of the Building Forensics practice
Oversee complex investigations involving water intrusion, building envelope failures, structural concerns, and building performance issues
Manage client relationships and support business development efforts
Develop repair and remediation recommendations for clients
Collaborate with engineers, architects, environmental professionals, and construction consultants
Recruit, mentor, and develop technical staff as the team grows
Manage project budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables
What we're looking for:
10+ years of experience in building forensics, building envelope consulting, forensic engineering, architecture, or a related discipline
PE and/or RA preferred
Experience leading investigations involving water intrusion, roofing systems, building envelope failures, moisture related issues, and structural distress
Strong client management and business development experience
Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
Experience mentoring and leading technical teams
Expert witness or litigation support experience is a plus
