Mechanical Engineer (Mission Critical)

This is an opportunity to get in early with a new Raleigh team while having the backing of an established and growing MEP consultancy. The firm has quickly built a strong presence in the mission critical and hyperscale data center market and is continuing to expand across the US.
You'll work on technically demanding projects alongside experienced engineers while taking on more responsibility as the local team develops. It's a strong opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer who wants to build specialist data center experience and progress alongside a growing business.
What you'll be doing:
Design HVAC and mechanical systems for complex facilities
Support plumbing, fire protection and controls design
Complete load, ventilation and airflow calculations
Support equipment selection and system sizing
Develop coordinated construction drawings and technical documentation
Ensure designs meet relevant building codes and engineering standards
Coordinate with electrical and other engineering disciplines
Work closely with project teams throughout design and delivery
Communicate technical requirements and resolve design issues
Continue developing your expertise through project exposure and training
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
3-7 years of mechanical design experience
Experience designing HVAC and mechanical building systems
Proficiency with Revit
Experience with plumbing or fire protection systems would be beneficial
Mission critical or data center experience is preferred
Healthcare, laboratory, pharmaceutical or industrial experience will also be considered
CFD experience would be an advantage
EIT certification preferred
PE license or progress toward licensure is a plus
