Forensic Structural Engineer (PE)
About the company:
We're partnering with a growing forensic engineering consultancy that has built a strong reputation for investigating structural failures, property damage claims, construction defects, and catastrophic loss events. With a busy pipeline of work and continued growth in Dallas, this is an opportunity to join a team that values technical expertise, professional development, and the freedom to take ownership of your work.
If you're looking to move beyond traditional design projects and enjoy solving complex problems, this role offers exposure to a wide variety of investigations across residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional properties.
What you'll be doing:
Conduct forensic investigations involving structural failures and property damage claims
Perform site inspections of residential and commercial buildings
Determine the cause and origin of structural distress, damage, and failures
Prepare technical reports, engineering opinions, and repair recommendations
Review construction documents, photographs, and historical records
Work directly with insurance carriers, attorneys, contractors, and property owners
Support litigation and dispute resolution matters when required
Manage multiple investigations while maintaining high technical standards
What we're looking for:
Active Texas PE license
5+ years of structural engineering experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience in forensic engineering, diagnostics, restoration, or building assessments preferred
Strong understanding of structural systems, building codes, and construction practices
Excellent technical writing and communication skills
Ability to independently manage investigations and client relationships
More reasons to apply:
Immediate backlog of forensic work and a growing Dallas team
Exposure to a diverse range of investigations rather than repetitive design projects
Opportunity to work alongside experienced forensic engineers and technical specialists
Strong autonomy with the support of an established platform
Direct client interaction and the opportunity to build your own reputation in the market
Clear path for increased responsibility as the office continues to grow
A role that combines engineering, investigation, problem solving, and consulting expertise
